Real/Surreal: Stories of Antelope Island
Public art project
November – December, 2025

In tandem with creating the solo exhibition Anomalies at Ogden Contemporary Arts, Suzanne Sbarge led a public art project engaging the community during her 2025 residency in Ogden, Utah. During collage and painting workshops for all ages, she asked students to let their imagination take the lead while considering their own migration and relationship to the natural world. She designed a culminating mobile exhibition titled Real/Surreal: Stories of Antelope Island, featuring elements from participants’ collages on an Ogden City bus wrap and 12 digital billboards throughout Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Northern Utah. The bus was parked in front of Ogden Contemporary Arts at the opening of Anomalies, and commiunity members got to see their artwork up close.
